彭 郁雯
PENG, Yu-Wen

A highly forward-thinking jazz pianist and composer from Taiwan. A graduate of the Department of Sociology at National Taiwan University and Berklee College of Music in the United States, she won the Toshiko Akiyoshi Composition Award during her time in the US. In 2005, she founded the "Sizhukong Jazz Band," transforming traditional Taiwanese music with a contemporary spirit. Her performances have taken her throughout Asia, America, and Europe, making her one of the most frequently invited jazz musicians to perform at overseas music festivals. She has received numerous awards, including the 21st Golden Melody Awards for Best Instrumental Album and Best Instrumental Album Producer, the 1st Golden Indie Music Awards for Best Musician, and the 2nd Golden Indie Music Awards for Best Live Performance. Currently teaching at the Department of Applied Music, National Tainan National University of the Arts.
