SIZHUKONG
The "Sizhukong Jazz Band" is a highly innovative fusion jazz band in Taiwan.
Founded in 2005, it is composed of a group of professional jazz and traditional instrumental musicians led by pianist Peng Yu-wen. The arrangement includes piano, bass, drums, flute/xiao, liuqin/zhongruan, and erhu/percussion.
Her debut album, "Silk and Bamboo in the Sky" (2007), was considered by the local music scene to be of epoch-making significance. The novel variations of jazz, in contrast to the traditional elegance of Chinese music, create an indescribable listening experience. To date, they have released four albums, showcasing Hakka elements through stunningly unique instrumentation and musical style.
It fully utilizes traditional opera, folk songs, and ancient melodies, making it a unique Taiwanese music and cultural creative brand.
Since its establishment, it has performed nearly 400 shows at home and abroad .
His footprints have covered more than 20 countries in Europe, America and Asia.
Including the Edinburgh Blues & Jazz Festival, the French International Jazz Festival, and the Lithuanian Vilnius Jazz Festival.Canadian Music Week, Cervantes International Festival in Mexico, Jakarta International Jazz Festival, Penang Jazz Festival,Korea Gapyeong International Jazz Festival, Singapore Chinese Arts Festival, Jazz Shanghai International Music Festival, National Theater and Concert Hall Summer Jazz Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival, etc.
And won the Golden Melody Awards for "Best Album" and "Best Album Producer".
He won the Golden Indie Music Awards for "Best Live Performance" and the Chinese Music Media Awards for "Best Jazz/Blues Artist".
